Enrollment Lottery Applications are organized into three language groups: native English speakers, native Spanish speakers, and bilingual speakers. The annual public lottery uses the following priority order:

1. Siblings of current LAS students
2. Children of LAS staff
3. Students residing in ZIP code 95820 with qualifying address verification
4. Students residing within the Sacramento City Unified School District attendance area with qualifying address verification
5. Students residing outside the SCUSD attendance area

Families applying for Kindergarten or grades 1-8 complete an Enrollment Lottery Application during Open Enrollment. Students applying after TK are placed into the applicable waitlist order through the lottery process. If a vacancy becomes available, the school may assess language proficiency and the Enrollment Committee meets with the family to make a recommendation.

No. Siblings receive a lottery priority but are not automatically admitted. A separate application is required for a sibling who is not already enrolled.

The waitlist locks at the end of Open Enrollment. Families interested in applying after the deadline must wait until the following Open Enrollment period.

LAS waitlists roll over from year to year. Families already on the waitlist should follow the school's annual waitlist confirmation instructions to maintain their placement.
